Water Witch is a fabulous horror fiction novel that will be sure to curl toes as the pages fly through the reader’s fingers. Deborah LeBlanc has a gift for making the hair raise on the back of the neck and chills rush up the spine. This novel will stay glued to the reader’s hands until the very last word.

The reader will become engrossed in the small town of Bayou Crow and the people who call it home. Beautiful Angelle, the spitfire Poochie, mysterious Cherokee, and good ole Pork Chop are a lively set of supporting characters. The main character Dunny is a wonderful woman that the reader will come to like very quickly. Watch Witch is full of surprises thanks to this diverse cast.

LeBlanc takes advantage of the initial misgivings the reader might have about the deep bayou of Louisiana and turns it into full-blown terror. Her rich descriptions and prose make one feel as if they stand side by side with Dunny as she makes her way through the small town and bayou. The story of Water Witch feels so close as one reads, sometimes a little too close. There were times that this reviewer could have worn she felt the heat of the bayou.
